Harry, Harry, Harry

You have to wonder just what he’s been doing for all those years…

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, facing a tough re-election bid in one of the states hardest hit by the recession, said today that the economic downturn was not his fault. “I had nothing to do with the massive foreclosures here,” Reid said during an appearance on the ABC News/Washington Post “Top Line” program, adding that he also had no part in contributing to the state’s dismal unemployment figures. At 14.3 percent, Nevada’s unemployment rate ranks the highest in the country.

So I guess if he isn’t responsible for any of the bad stuff, he doesn’t get credit for any of the good stuff either. Which leaves the question – why is he even there?

Hopefully the voters of Nevada will elect a RESPONSIBLE senator this year!

  1. Tim, Tim, Tim

Forget about Harry Reid; what’s your opinion of Tim Ravndal’s joking about the murder of Matthew Shepard?

  2. The man disgusts me. Has since I first met him over a year and a half ago. Major reason I haven’t had anything to do with the BSTPA since the very early days. His comments and behavior in this mess further confirms my initial opinion of him was spot-on.

Many – most – of the people who participate in the local TEA Party Association are hard-working, upstanding, honest citizens who are genuinely concerned by the fiscal policies of this administration, and the direction the country is heading, but there are a few who have personal agendas that go beyond the scope of the organization and haven’t got enough sense to keep their mouths shut in public.

That said – good riddance to bad rubbish. I hope the BSTPA understands the opportunity they have to claim credibility by sticking by their original course of action.

  3. The mission, as I understand it – at least on a national level – is very focused and narrow….primarily the economy, size of government, and spending that is contributing to runaway debt. Suggest if locals want to get involved in sex ed curriculum and social issues, they do so NOT under the banner of TPA but rather as individuals….or some other organization.

This incident of Ravndal….which may have been inadvertent I suppose, though explanations haven’t been t particularly convincing…has done irreparable damage to the TPA. When speaking as a member of the “group” one has to remember that comments attributed to one are interpreted as “group think” by the public.

The election coming up is TOO important for grandstanding by anyone. Get the goal back in focus.

  4. Republicans do seem to be trying to do their best lately to not take advantage of the upcoming election. It seems some should just not say anything until Nov. 3rd.

Social and online media are great outlets – and also very public.
