Readership in Mongolia Disappointing

My son, the computer genius and tech guru, subscribed to this cool application for bloggers called Mint. It tracks a bunch of stuff about who’s reading your blog, how they’re finding it, where the readers are located. I haven’t totally figured out all the info yet, but it is kind of interesting to check out.

He installed it for me about a month ago and I can now make a few observations: Readership seems to increase when I post something new, and while I have made tentative inroads into the European market, Mongolia remains an untapped opportunity. As does Russia, China, all of South America, and continental Africa. I do have a fan somewhere in the Western Atlantic, however.

  1. Ain’t Technology wonderful? Although, I seem to recall a famous person, whose first name is Ted and who lived in a small cabin outside of Lincoln, that seemed to think that technology would be our downfall.

Perhaps we need to send some PCs to Mongolia to boost readership. You might increase readership to the south if you parallel posted in Espanol.

    Adios, mi amiga. Buena suerte.

  2. Good point – except that I can’t read or write in Spanish – and my Russian and French are so rusty that it would take me so long to write a post that my grandchildren would be able to read it by the time I got done. Guess I’ll just have to focus on my current demographic. Whatever that is.

  3. I thought just posting new articles would increase your readership. Who knows,… you might even be able to sell advertising and make this a full time job. 8^)))

  4. Hey Chris ~ Glad you stopped by! If you do get to Mongolia, be sure and let us know. Otherwise – we’re here in Montana and you’re welcome to check us out whenever you want to visit this neighborhood!

  5. http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ will translate a lot of languages from/to…

My last signoff translates to ” Goodbye, my friend. Good luck.”

Your current demographic – the Internet savvy conservative, looking for a touch of realism, mixed with an occasional mild flavor of sarcasm?
