Vote For Schweitzer

Okay – first wipe up the coffee (pepsi?) that just sprayed out of your nose all over your computer screen. Then read Mike Baker’s new column at Fox News.

I think our favorite bully is a prime candidate for the People’s Choice Award – Biggest Yutz 2008. Click on the email to cast your vote.

And this way when the pollsters call, you can honestly say you voted for BS and skew the results. It may not be the same as throwing an election, but we do what we can in these troubled times.

Mixed Nuts

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the blogosphere over the past couple of days, thanks to a three-day weekend and an early winter storm. Not to mention some pretty intriguing stuff out there. In my random wanderings, I’ve discovered some new friends at Hillbuzz. If you haven’t checked the site out yet, I highly recommend it. There are several posts up today; I would like to share these thoughts from one of them…

“This is something very interesting that’s come out of the 2008 race: the fact that moderate Democrats now see how obnoxious and bullying liberals can be.

To be completely honest, we were never comfortable with the far left of the Democratic party, but tried our best to ignore it through the years. We didn’t like the people euphanized as “granola crunchers” or “MoveOn.ogres” any more than Republicans did…and tried our best to have as little to do with them as possible. And yes, as lifelong Democrats, we were always taught to automatically disagree with and oppose all things Republican, because that’s what “good Democrats” did. Without thinking. Boo! Tsk! Rant! Rave! Boo!

Where the liberals find their base in socialism and Marxism and anti-Americanism, the far-right nuts take their inspiration from twisted interpretations of religion as a weapon of hate.

In 2008, after being in the trenches for 2 years, we think extremists on BOTH SIDES are a problem.

And, as moderate, centrist Democrats, we’ve discovered — to our shock — that we have more in common with moderate Republicans than we do with the sorts of nutters who are caught booing and acting like fools in the video above.

This election has changed us.

We’ve discovered that we don’t automatically support the Democratic candidate if Democrats run a far left socialist liberal… “

WOW. Whoda thunk it? Wing Nuts and ACORNs causing problems??? And causing moderates from both parties find common ground for the good of the country.

Alleluia!

UPDATE – Obama Birth Certificate Issue

Take the time to watch and listen to this video.

WHY DOESN’T OBAMA RELEASE HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE? Methinks the Progressive/Left Wing/Howard Dean fringe, in concert with BHO, have conspired to hijack the Democratic Party by perpetrating a series of frauds including illegal voter registration and culminating in putting forth a candidate who is not eligible to be President. They were successful in stopping Hillary who should have been the Dem. candidate. We cannot let them continue on this path. Demand to see a CERTIFIED copy of BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE NOW!!!!!

Here Are the Crayons

For months now, many have been putting the dots on the paper as we try to learn just exactly who Barack Hussein Obama really is and what that means to America’s future. With just over three weeks to go, it’s time to start connecting the dots and seeing the picture that comes up:

Is he really an American and does he meet the basic qualifications to be the President of the United States? When these questions first showed up in my email inbox months ago, I read them with complete skepticism. Forcryingoutloud – the guy was a US Senator, so that shouldn’t even be a question. But guess what? This question remains at the heart of a Pennsylvania lawsuit that HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED!!!! Now – if you were asked to prove your US citizenship – how long would it take you to produce a certified copy of your birth certificate? A week or two at the most, right? There’s a whole lot of legal gobbly-gook out there about this issue, but for me it comes down to two points – Obama could put this mess totally away by producing a certified copy of his birth certificate (as opposed to an electronically reproduced “Certificate of Live Birth” which is not the same thing), and two, the Obama campaign and the DNC are spending a bunch of time, money, and effort to thwart the aforementioned lawsuit. Doesn’t make any sense to me if there’s no there there. Why not just call Honolulu and order a certified birth certificate. I checked – it’s a pretty straightforward process with the requested document sent within 2- 4 weeks. Mr. Berg’s lawsuit was filed in August. Why not just provide the damn birth certificate, Senator???

His “Associates”. I would like to say that this doesn’t matter, but I can’t. It does matter. Right, wrong, or indifferent, Obama has some pretty disconcerting connections to people, organizations, and cultures that legitimately causes concern in the minds of many Americans. We’ll probably never get the truth about his familial and childhood ties to Islam, but we deserve and should demand clear, honest, and complete answers to questions about his relationships with some – shall we say questionable characters, such as Louis Farrakhan, who recently referred to Obama as “The Messiah” in a YouTube video. Not to mention those really fun guys like “Cousin” Odinga (Kenyan ethnic cleanser who Obama campaigned for until the Kenyan government made a formal protest to the US Department of State), our old “friend” Mohammar Quadaffi, and, lest we forget, the leader of Hamas, Moussa Marzook, who all think that “it’s their way or the highway”. And “their way” is not the American way! Which brings us to… Bill Ayers – domestic terrorist, unabashed radical, self-proclaimed anti-American. Prof. Rashid Khalidi – former PLO spokesperson and Obama fundraiser, Ali Abunimah of the Arab American Action Network, Nadhami Auchi, former Baathist and close associate of Saddam Hussein who also has fundraising ties to Obama, Tony Rezko – long-time player in Chicago Democrat political machine, convicted felon, money connection, Syrian (anti-Semite?). Then there’s Reverend Jeremiah Wright – that fun-loving, loud-mouthed, anti-American racist and his faithful sidekick Father Pfleger. George Soros of MoveOn.org fame and long-known anti-American bias. That’s a gang that anybody would be proud to call friends. NOT!!!

So what about his affiliations to these organizations? ACORN, Nation of Islam, the New Black Panther Party, The Woods Fund, the African Liberation Movement, as well as those mentioned above in relation to specific individuals. We’ve heard about some of these to greater or lesser degrees, but we have to look at the sum of the parts. When you check out Obama’s resume, do you see any of the organizations you belong to? Kiwanis? Lions Club? Chamber of Commerce? I’m pretty sure there are chapters of those groups in Chicago.

How about his non-Chicago political friends? Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Franks, Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson et al – ad nauseum. That’s a real special group of politicians that have done the American people a ton of good lately.

What about his record on the issues? Well, let’s start with the big picture. Obama has been ranked the MOST LIBERAL senator of all. Beating out Teddy Kennedy, John Kerry, Bernie Sanders (a self-described socialist), and Chuck Schumer, to name a few of our favorites. But let’s look at a few specific issues of national interest. (Not that you haven’t heard about ANY of this stuff – but we are providing dots here)…

Abortion. Obama’s position is more extreme than even Planned Parenthood and the vast majority of Americans and mainstream politicians. He opposed the “Born Alive Infant Act” that would require medical assistance for babies who survived an abortion. He attempted to justify this one by saying (among other explanations) he would have supported the bill, but he was worried that it could lead to abortionists who botched the job being held liable for malpractice, because obviously a live baby is not the desired result of an abortion.

Mandatory sex education for kindergartners and early elementary students. He tried to explain this one by claiming the education wasn’t mandatory, and it was just to teach little ones about “inappropriate touching”. All you have to do is read the bill. He’s full of BS.

The Second Amendment. Speaking of BS. Obama has never supported your right to “keep and bear arms” without qualifications. He’s cool with letting you have a gun for hunting – but read the fine print. You can have a gun – but he’s not too keen on letting you have any ammo! Amazing that he’s considered a “Constitutional Scholar” by some, and yet doesn’t understand the concept that “Congress shall not abridge…” Guess he was all confused by that boondoggle in Alaska.

Then there’s his position on immigration (perhaps more understandable given his own citizenship status??), and his plans for social security, health care, the Supreme Court, and all the rest. Problem is – he keeps changing them, and modifying them and/or hiding them.

But we’re supposed to trust him to represent us – the American people – in spite of what he says, what he’s done in the past, who his friends are, what groups he supports, what he’s hidden from us, and what he’s lied about to us.

There isn’t enough “hope” in the world that would allow me to think that’s a good idea.

Connect the dots. From this we can begin to see a disturbing picture of the man who would be President.

Color Obama GONE on November 4. For America’s sake.

Nebraska???

Rasmussen’s new poll on the governor’s race should have good ol’ Governor Swagger about as nervous as a pregnant nun. According to the pollster there’s about a 15% difference in unaffiliated voters, but there may be a reason: “He has a 61% to 34% advantage among women in Nebraska.” Of course, not too many Nebraskans will be voting for Montana’s governor. Wonder what happens if they poll the women in Montana? Could make a big difference since Montana women aren’t too impressed with a bullying, lying, bragging buffoon.

Protest Vote

Okay – I think I get it. We have to do the bail-out thing, because Congress hasn’t been able to get it right for the past thirty years.

It was during the Carter years when “affordable housing” first somehow crept into the Bill of Rights. One of those secret amendments, y’know. Not a whole lot of impact during the Reagan era, but things really took off while Bill Clinton was enjoying the perks of the Oval Office. By then, clever community organizers in big cities like Chicago found ways to haul in millions and millions of taxpayer funds to create great wealth for special friends and simultaneously create super fabulous rat-infested dumps for the community. What a deal.

Seems nobody was paying a whole bunch of attention to the goings on at Freddie and Fannie’s, while the money geniuses on Wall St. discovered a shell game where they could leverage the mortgage loan packages about thirty times – and – even better could indulge in naked short sales (sounds like a Clinton thing, huh?) until they finally reached critical mass. And the whole thing fell down or blew up. Whichever. Bang. Boom. Bust.

So now “we the people” get to charge to the rescue. Why am I not thrilled with the opportunity? Perhaps because I don’t think they’re going to get it right this time either.

So what can we do about it?

Probably not much – but I figure I’ll start my own little protest and anyone can join in. Since it’s a given that Max will win again anyway – instead of voting for him – or the always popular “NOTA”, I’m going to cast my ballot for Bob Kelleher. If enough of us do that, the vote could be close enough to scare Max so he and Jon will get the message that we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!

FoxNews Shines Spotlight on Schweitzer’s Voter Fraud Claims

My first-ever – as it’s happening post…

The Fox story about Gov. BS’s claims of committing voter fraud.

Prelude is BigBri’s ad about how he – personally and all by himself – stopped the “Real ID” for Montana. Set the audience up for questioning Brian’s credibility if they knew how that really went down. Probably too much inside baseball for most though.

Eric Shawn framed the story well and hearing the tape of the gov’s own words remains damning. Brad Johnson did fine – sounded very serious, professional, and non-political. I wish he would have been a little more explicit about how fast McGrath’s refusal to investigate was, but Eric didn’t give him much time or ask the follow-up questions.

Personal opinion, here – Conrad didn’t help move the issue forward. His focus on the fact that nothing can change the outcome of the election and the fact that our election laws are fundamentally weak, while valid and certainly worth discussing, diminished the point that we’ve got a donkey’s butt in the governor’s office who – by his own admission – tampered with an election. And that demands an investigation.

Of Note: Fox interviewed BS earlier in the week, and to the best of my knowledge, they haven’t run any of that tape. Wonder why? Perhaps they didn’t have enough meat after they edited out the bull.

Dead Horse Won’t Die

Bet it’s not too much fun around the dinner table at the Governor’s Mansion in Helena these days. The Schweitzergate Scandal just won’t go away. Since breaking in the Dextra Blogosphere on September 5, the story of the gov’s, shall we say, intemperate comments about fixing the 2006 election for his good buddy Jon Tester has appeared in newspapers, radio, and television around the country. Now it’s evolving into a national cable story as Fox News plans a live interview of Secretary of State Brad Johnson on Sunday morning. Eric Shawn will be discussing the issue of voter fraud as we head into this year’s election – a subject that most Americans don’t find particularly humorous. We heard that BS was interviewed by Fox earlier this week, so the whole country will probably get to hear him bragging, boasting, and bloviating and then see him trying to brush it all off as jus’ shuckin’ and jokin’ by an innocent, down home, good ol’ boy who’s bein’ unfairly attacked by his political opponents.

I don’t know how this whole mess will eventually be resolved. The US Attorney’s Office has opened a file on the case, and we’ll just have to wait and see if the investigation results in indictments, a perp walk, a trial, and possibly jail time. We are already seeing the rising star start to fall out of the sky. It was only three weeks ago that the buzz was all about Schweitzer as Obama’s Energy Czar – now even BS himself is minimizing those expectations by claiming he really wouldn’t want to live in DC anyway – just in case anybody’s asking. Which they aren’t.

Reminds me of a Kentucky Derby thing. The winner of the 2003 Run for the Roses – a gelding named Funny Cide – out of Distorted Humor. Poetic justice – or just a hoot?

JUDICIAL TEMPERAMENT OR POLITICAL HACK?

Several of the liberals’ comments about Brian’s Schweitzer’s speech to the Trial Lawyers have chided those of us who were insulted because we don’t have a sense of humor. Well, let’s see if they think this is as hysterical as we do…

Ring Ring:

Hello Mike McGrath here. Brian is that you?

Big Mike, what’s happening?

Brian, I’m starting to get a lot of calls about that speech you made.

Mike, did you see all them folks in Denver cheering me on. It was great, national news media loved it. You never know where one good speech will take a guy, just look at BO.

Not that speech Brian, the one in Philly that you gave to the trial lawyers. Folks are calling for an investigation….

Oh yeah. It was great too. Raised a lot of cash on that trip. Hey Mike, maybe I could introduce you to those guys and you could get a little help with your campaign to the state Supreme Court.

Boy, that would be great Brian-just fax a list of contacts on over.

Say Mike, was there anything else that I can help you with? I’m kind of busy playing fetch with Jag right now.

No Brian, that about covers it. Have a good day and send that list over right away. Bye Bye_

Mike McGrath is the current Democrat Attorney General. He is term-limited out of that position, so being as how he has been sucking out of the public trough for virtually his entire professional life, he is now looking to be elected Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court – a supposed NON-PARTISAN position. However, when the governor’s mouth got him in legal trouble, he went to his good buddy, Mikey. And Mikey, like the good little Party lapdog that he is, came galloping to the gov’s rescue with such speed and alacrity that he finally gave Ron Waterman a chance to offer the voters a clear picture of the contrast between the two of them.

Ron is an exceptional, intelligent lawyer with a breadth of legal experience and the kind of judicial temperament that demands a careful and thorough analysis of the information before him before making a decision. Unlike McGrath who has his mind made up and doesn’t need to be bothered by the facts. Montana cannot afford to have a Supreme Court led by such a legal and intellectually retarded political hack.

Mike didn’t do himself or the governor any favors with his lightening-speed refusal to investigate a legitimate complaint by a Montana citizen. Perhaps there is insufficient cause to arrest the governor for conspiracy to commit election fraud, election fraud, intimidating a public official, or extortion, but in the light of Schweitzer’s own admission of guilt in these matters – which may or may not rise to the level of evidence because that speech can be considered as “statements against self-interest”, our Attorney General certainly would have better served us and the governor had he conducted an honest and complete investigation. Instead of at least making it look like he was doing the responsible thing, Mike confirmed to all Montanans that he is no more than another puppet dancing to Brian Schweitzer’s tunes.

Intended Consequences???

Call me crazy, but don’t you find it interesting that the jump in the unemployment rate comes about a month after the hike in the minimum wage?

I know for a fact that at least two people at one local business were laid-off because the business could not absorb the increased costs. Admittedly those jobs didn’t provide a living income – but in one of the two cases above the job provided additional income to a struggling family – and now they have to find a way to replace not just the difference between the old rate and the new rate, but the old rate and zero. Zippo. Zilch. And there’s no unemployment insurance either – he hadn’t been at the job long enough.

Way To Go! all you caring, benevolent, progressive liberals. Basic economics has taught us that when the cost of doing business goes up one of two things will happen: Business passes the increases on to the customers (Inflation), or they cut costs (Unemployment) because the only “business” that has a printing press in the back room is the federal government.

I know that the folks who generally have minimum wage jobs probably don’t have the educational background to understand the economic system, but the people who pushed for the higher minimum wage (like Steve Bullock – candidate for Attorney General) surely do – and they have chosen to ignore economic realities for political feel-good demagoguery.

Shame on them.
